A Report on Centre Festival 2 (Sri Krishna Janmashtami)
Classes - Nursery, L.Kg. & U.Kg. 2025–2026
Shri Krishna Janmashtami, a revered Hindu festival, commemorates the divine birth of God Sri Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Celebrated on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Shravana, the festival holds immense spiritual and cultural significance. As per Hindu scriptures, God Krishna was born over 5,200 years ago in Mathura to Devaki and Vasudeva. His life continues to inspire generations with timeless lessons in love, righteousness, wisdom, and devotion.
This auspicious occasion was celebrated with great joy on Saturday, 16th August 2025. The celebration was themed “Places of Sri Krishna”, designed to introduce young learners to the important locations associated with God Krishna’s life, in a creative and engaging manner.
The event commenced with a sacred Govu pooja, invoking divine blessings and setting a spiritual tone for the day. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the kindergarten teachers, symbolizing knowledge, positivity, and enlightenment.
The children were beautifully dressed as Sri Krishna, Radha, and the Gopis in colourful traditional attire. The entire atmosphere was filled with festive cheer, vibrant colours and devotional music.
The programme included:
• Anchoring and narration by students
• Video Clips and Puppet show related to the theme
• Mesmerizing dance performances by students and teachers
A total of 83 students participated enthusiastically, making the event both memorable and educational. A major highlight was the traditional game ‘Dahi Handi’ (flower pots), which introduced students to cultural customs in a playful and enjoyable way.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasadam, a sacred offering shared with all children, adding to the spiritual essence of the event.
Overall, the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Foundation Centre-I was a vibrant blend of devotion, learning, and joy-leaving behind cherished memories and an understanding of our rich cultural heritage..
