Place Visited: Sri Ayyappa Swamy Temple, Ballari (Dist.).

Class: I                                                                                                                                            2019-2020

On Wednesday, 04 December 2019, the students of Class I with their respective class teachers visited Sri Ayyappa Swamy Temple as the part of educational programme.

Temple is a place meant for worshiping God. Visiting temple activates the sense organs which can absorb the positive energy.

Sri Ayyappa Swamy Temple is located in a huge ground at Raghavendra colony second stage near Taranath Ayurvedic college, Anantapur road, Ballari. This temple is maintained by Sri Sabari Ayyappa Trust with the guidance of its chairman and trustee Sri Jayaprakash J. Gupta.

As soon as we reached the temple, we were welcomed by the members of the trustee. In order to maintain the dignity of the abode, we all were instructed not to enter the sanctum through the beautifully sculpted eighteen steps of the Lord, as these steps have considerable religious significance. Devotees believe that ascending these steps help us to detach from worldly desires, mentally and physically. The students and the staff entered the sanctum through another gate by leaving their footwear outside the temple.

Our students saw the idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Swamy Ayyappa in the temple. During the visit, the chairman of the trust shared a brief note about the temple. The temple was built in the year 2013 as similar structural replica of Sri Sabarimala Temple at Kerala.

We all were grateful to God as we got a chance to witness and join the prayers during the Mahamangalarthi and receive the prasadam offered at the temple. Later, our students rejoiced the occasion by chanting the Govinda Naamavali in the temple.

We thank the staff of the temple for their kind cooperation in fulfilling the objective of this field trip.

Place Visited: Sri Sai filling station, Ballari.

Class: V                                                                                                                                       2019-2020

On Wednesday, 14th February 2020, the students of class V visited Sri Sai filling station, Ballari, along with their respective teachers. It is about 7.5 km far away from Dream World School.

The main objective of filling station is to ensure maintenance of continuous and smooth supplies of petroleum products by the way of crude oil refining, transportation and marketing activities.

To learn about one such filling station we had visited Sri Sai filling station that sells fuel and engine lubricants for motor vehicles. Mr. H. Veeranna Gouda the manager of petrol bunk have educated our students about the petrol bunk along with one helper. The area of the petrol bunk is about 1 acre. There are 8 workers who work in two batches alternately. The bunk starts in the morning 6 a.m. and  closes at 11 p.m.

The bunk has three pumps, one is for petrol and other two are for diesel. The petrol transportation tank truck has four divisions in it. Each division is of 5000 litre capacity. Based on the requirement of petrol and diesel, the tank is filled (if 5000 litre is petrol and remaining 15,000 will be diesel). Total truck tank capacity is 20,000 litre. For petrol tank it is indicated as red and for diesel tank it is  indicated as blue. In Sri Sai filling station there are three big storing tanks, two for diesel and one is for petrol. The diesel storing tank capacity is about 20,000 litre each and petrol storing tank capacity is 10,000 litre.

As on 14th February 2020 market price of petrol was 74.14 rupees / litre and diesel was about 69.17 rupees / litre. For one day nearly 1500 to 1600 litre of petrol and 6000 to 7000 litre of diesel is sold at the petrol bunk. This fuel is imported from Dubai and from there to Mangalore oil refinery and then to Hubli and to Ballari.

The petrol bunk has an OPW (company) machine which indicates how much petrol or diesel is present in the storage tank of petrol bunk. There is a computer system in the room from which the manager can know how many litres of petrol or diesel has been sold and the changes in the cost of the petrol and diesel. This digitalization of the work avoids cheating of any kind in selling.

This visit helped our students to know how the petrol bunk works with a real learning experience. We are thankful to Mr. H. Veeranna Gouda for the support and concern in fulfilling our objective in this field trip.

The archaeological sources include monuments, temples, inscriptions, coins, weapons and literary sources of information. To know about one such source of history we visited the Dodda Basaveshwara temple in the town of Kurugodu, which is now a taluk in the Ballari district of Karnataka state.

The Dodda Basaveswara temple is believed to have been constructed during the rule of the Vijayanagara kings. The temple complex is quite big, with a recently constructed Shikara and is dedicated to Lord Nandi, the vahana of Lord Shiva .The idol of Lord Basavanna which is about 12 ft tall is a cut-out from a monolithic rock.

The Dodda Basaveswara temple ("temple of the big bull-lord") is the main attraction in the town, attracting many devotees of Lord Shiva. Ratha Mahothsava is organised for the diety of the temple on the holi Poornima day, which marks the beginning of the spring season, as well as the beginning of the New Year.

Mr. Amaresh the local farmer has explained about the historical background of the temple and also gave us the information about the inscriptions in the temple premises.

Place Visited: The Byrapura Village, Ballari (Dist.).

Class: VIII                                                                                                                                       2019-2020

On 10th December 2019, the students of VIII standard, along with the teachers visited the Byrapura Village, Siruguppa Tehsil of, Ballari district. One of the farms in Byrapur village is known for a multi economic agro-based organic farm unit.

Organic farming is a method that involves growing and nurturing crops without the use of synthetic based fertilizers and pesticides like the use of compost manure and green manure. Also, no genetically modified organisms are permitted in the farming process.

To have a clear idea of such an organic farm we visited the fields of Mr. Erappaiah Swamy, the owner of the organic farm and the local farmer. He also emphasises on the techniques of crop rotation and companion planting in his farms.

Mr. Swamy detailed us about the importance of organic farming and sericulture. He grows millets through organic farming method. He chose to grow millets as they are highly nutritious food providing protein, fiber, iron, vitamin B, manganese, phosphorous, potassium and magnesium. They are highly alkaline, easily digestible and soothing to the stomach. They are rich sources of vitamin E, B complex, niacin, thiamin and riboflavin. In addition to it millets also contain essential amino acids like methionine, lecithin, phyto chemicals, and phytic acid to lower cholesterol and phylate, which is associated with reduced cancer risk. With so many health benefits Mr. Erappaiah Swamy had taken the initiative to grow millets and make people aware of both millets and the organic farming. He also explained us about his mulberry cultivation for the sericulture unit. Doing all these, Mr. Swamy proves that we can stay away from chemicals and be much closer to the nature to be safe and healthy.

The visit was indeed a real learning experience to know about organic farming for a healthy living. We thank Mr. Erappaiah Swamy, for his support and cooperation in making this field trip a successful educational trip for our students.

iii. CNC 4 Axis Auto Lathe Turning  Tsugami, a Japan Brand for making world class quality implants

iv. CNC 6 Axis Auto Lathe Turning Tsugami, a Japan Brand for making world

class quality implants

They use carbide as a cutting tool to prepare any device/instrument. Cutting material must be stronger in strength to cut raw martial such as 316L stainless steel or Ti6AL-4v Vanadium.
