Sri Ganesha Chaturthi Pooja

The Ganesha festival is celebrated on every Bhadrapada Shukla Chavithi. We believe that worshipping of God Ganesha purifies our mind and promotes good thoughts. Also, by performing puja we develop discipline, concentration, devotion and calmness in our lives.

This year, 43 students of classes VIII, IX and X of our school celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi with great devotion to seek the blessings of Lord Vighneshwara (Ganesha).

Idol making:
Usually, in our school, ‘Ganesha Chaturthi’ festival preparations begin one week in advance with the making of eco-friendly clay idols of Ganesha by the students. Each student crafted a clay mould of Ganesha on his/her own for puja purpose, after the school hours i.e., from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the assistance of our Fine Arts teacher Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi in our school premises. An eco-friendly Ganesha idol of two feet height was also made with clay for the school.

Ganesha Puja :
This year we celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi on Monday, 2.09.2019. On that day, we started Ganesha puja at 9:30 a.m. in the guidance of Sri Laksmi Narayana, the priest of ‘Shri Balaji Temple, Balaji Nagar’, Taallur Road, Ballari. The student participants worshipped the individual clay idols of Ganesha made by them. On behalf of school, the Chief Mr. K. Anil Babu performed Ganesha puja with much devotion along with the members of his family to the clay idol of Ganesha made for the school.

Class-I Field Trip

This puja programme was organised in the seminar hall of our school. We worshipped Lord Ganesha with devotion and offered sincere prayers to Him in accordance with veda mantras chanted by the priest. Some of our well-wishers, and Pragyana wing teacher Mr. Shashidhara and Kannada teacher Mr. Diwakar attended the puja seeking Ganesha’s blessings.

After the shodasa puja to Ganesha, the priest briefed us about the importance of celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi and why it is so customary to begin every occasion with the blessings of Lord Ganesha, who removes all obstacles. The priest narrated the story of ‘Syamantaka Mani’ and the significance of ‘Ganesha Vratam’.

Later, we worshipped cows by performing puja and made pradakshina around the cows which are reared in our school. The puja programme ended with the distribution of Prasadam sponsored by Mr. Ravi Shankar, the well wisher of our school. The Prasadam was served to all the devotees. This programme concluded around 12:15 p.m. on that day.

We hope that this Ganesha puja pleases Him and brings prosperity and happiness in every one’s life.
