A
Report on ‘Career Counselling’
Classes: IX & X 2018-2019
We organised a ‘Career Counselling’ program for
the students of class IX and X on Saturday, 10 November, 2018 on the occasion
of World Commerce Education Day. There is a widespread belief in the society
that Science stream alone provides careers for bright future. In this view, we
arranged an orientation to enlighten our students of classes IX and X about the
career opportunities available for Commerce students for a prestigious life.
In this regard, we invited Mr. Naveen Kumar, a CA
from Hospet, the consultant of ‘The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI)’
as the Chief Guest to educate our students. The well-wisher of our school Mr. Yerriswamy,
a CA, the chairman of Ballari branch of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC)
of ICAI, played a key role in conducting this ‘Career Counselling’ programme. He
introduced the chief guest Mr. Naveen Kumar CA, to the gathering in a
passionate manner.
Mr. Naveen Kumar started the program with an interactive
session with the students. He enquired about the career goals of students. He
explained them about the nature of commerce subject and its applications in
real life. Later, he elucidated the key role of a Chartered Accountant (C.A.) in
the society. He stated that the Finance Management of a country is similar to
the Nervous System of a human body. Commerce is all about exchange of goods and
services for consideration. It is the life line of economy. Money is the basis
of any transaction. Thus, Commerce is the backbone of any exchange of goods or
services and the economic growth of any company or nation.
He further said that a C.A.
can serve in all possible avenues of commerce and reflects his expertise in
diverse areas like Finance Management, Strategic Management, Planning and
Financial dealings. Mr. Naveen Kumar also assured that a C.A. is also eligible
for I.A.S., Doctorate, I.I.M. and acts like a bridge between people and government.
Mr. Naveen Kumar concluded his
orientation by clarifying the doubts of the students on the term of the course
and the number of colleges in India and so on. In the end Mr. Yerriswamy also
shared his experience of his academic journey to become a CA and also the
chairman of Ballari branch of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of ICAI as
well.
We thank the SIRC, Ballari
for organising this orientation program. It was more informative and
knowledgeable to the students. It was indeed a useful programme that
highlighted that ‘Commerce’ has a great importance to have good career
opportunities.
