FSSA WEEK - 2018-2019
Winners are not those who never fail but those
who never quit. This was said
by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Sport can affect a child’s development of self-esteem
and self-worth. Sport is important to children, being good
at sports is a strong social asset. The primary goal of
organising the FSSA WEEK (Sports Week) in our school is to encourage children
to take part in the sports events. Sports also make students to learn the
values such as acceptance, tolerance, time sense, confidence, teamwork, leadership, importance of hard work, determination, learning from
failures and importance of grasping opportunities and so on.
This academic year we
organised FSSA WEEK from 22nd November to 4th December 2018. On
22nd November the students from Classes I to IX were gathered on the
school ground for the inauguration ceremony. Our Chief Mr. K. Anil Babu
inaugurated the FSSA WEEK by lighting the torch and by releasing the pigeons as a
symbol of peace. Students of Classes
VI to IX performed March Past as a mark of respect.
Further, a drill by U.K.G students pleased
everyone. The girls from Classes VIII and IX performed a dance that encouraged
the students to take active participation in the FSSA WEEK. A few students of Classes
III and IV enacted like their favourite sports stars and inspired the gathering
with short motivational speeches.
The students from Classes I to IX took part in different events organised
for their respective classes according to their age level. It was compulsory
for the students of Classes I to IV to
take part in the events organised for them. Whereas choice was given to the
students of classes V to IX to take part only in three events (field and track)
based on their capability.
Students competed enthusiastically with
sportsmen spirit in all the events. After Preliminary Heats students who were
qualified for the finals were intimated to play in the finals organised on Thursday,
29th November 2018 and on Tuesday, 4th December 2018. Football
was organised among the four houses (Cheetah, Puma, Panther and Jaguar). Parents
were also invited to watch and encourage their wards competing in the finals. All
the winners will be awarded on the VAG Annual Award Day.
